Currently, all orchestras rehearse on Sunday afternoons at Trinity Preparatory School, located at 5700 Trinity Prep Lane, Winter Park, Florida 32792.
The Young Artists Sinfonia is a string orchestra for our youngest members. The Sinfonia is structured to allow the young intermediate level string student an opportunity to participate in a large group ensemble experience. The Sinfonia plays advanced beginner to intermediate repertoire and typically performs five or more concerts each year. The Sinfonia typically includes musicians who can perform level 2 or 3 string books.
The Young Artists Philharmonic is a full orchestra including strings, winds, brass and percussion. The orchestra typically consists of middle school students with some talented elementary school students and some high school students. The Philharmonic’s mission is to give students an educationally sound musical experience in a full orchestral setting through exposure to quality musical literature and performance opportunities. Intermediate to advanced orchestral repertoire along with challenging arrangements of great masterpieces are rehearsed and performed throughout the concert season. The Philharmonic Orchestra performs about five concerts each season.
The Young Artists Camerata Orchestra is an advanced smaller “chamber” orchestra performing standard orchestral repertoire. The Chamber Orchestra concept was a new and amazingly successful addition during the 2002/2003 season and consists students ranging from age 11 through age 22. Challenging standard chamber orchestral repertoire is explored and featured in the multi-performance Concert Season. Professional guest artists may appear as featured soloists and a fully dimensional orchestral stylistic curriculum includes learning music of the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and 20th Century.
The Young Artists Symphony Orchestra is a full orchestra performing standard orchestral repertoire. The Symphony is an advanced group of students ranging from age 11 through age 22. Original versions of standard orchestral repertoire are explored and featured in the multi-performance Concert Season. Professional guest artists may appear as featured soloists and a fully dimensional orchestral stylistic curriculum includes learning music of the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and 20th Century. The Symphony is featured in numerous concerts throughout the year.
