The Florida Young Artists Concerto Competition provides the opportunity for FYAO members to demonstrate their exceptional talent as soloists. FYAO competitors perform their solo work, from memory with an accompanist, before a panel of independent judges. Winners ultimately perform with the Symphony or another FYAO orchestra before a live audience in the Virtuoso Concert. Competitors must perform one entire movement of a recognized work (including cadenzas, if any) for their instrument (orchestral instruments, including piano, only) from the standard repertoire, which piece has been written for that instrument and published orchestral accompaniment.

It is important that you get approval from Dr. Gomez before deciding on a piece. This is to make sure that we can obtain the published music at a reasonable cost and in sufficient time for the orchestra to prepare for performance. Competitors will be assigned a scheduled performance time in advance of the competition. There will not be an accompanist provided for you. Please make arrangements for your own accompanist. You may also choose any suitable accompanist, however, you are responsible for all arrangements between you and your accompanist regarding fees, rehearsal times, etc.

Download the FYAO Concerto Competition Application from Charms website. You can find them under forms folder.
